Well, hello there!

I’m Aubrey- the artist behind Destination Wedding Painter. I am currently based on Maui, Hawaii, but am originally from South Carolina. Being a live wedding painter means I get to travel all around the world, painting couples on one of the most special days of their lives- their wedding!

As an artist I specialize in relatively realistic portraits and landscapes. Along with live wedding paintings, I paint many other things in my studio, including beloved pets, children’s portraits and landscapes.

For as long as I can remember I have been making art. I come from a family of artists and growing up, I was surrounded by creativity and the opportunities to make and show my art.

I started my career as an art educator in 2014 after graduating university and moved to Honduras to teach. This is where I completely fell in love with traveling and exploring life abroad. In the following years I was able to live in and travel to several different countries and corners of the globe. Up to this point, my art was still part of my lifestyle, but not a career yet. In 2022 I began drawing and painting again, for small amounts of time in the evening after my full time job as a non profit leader in Anchorage, Alaska. The beautiful landscape of Alaska had inspired in me a desire to draw again and I began to complete colored pencil drawings of the natural beauty surrounding me.

I fell in love with creating again, after several years of burnout and chasing other career goals. This newfound vision of an art career encouraged me to jump in-with both feet, to building my art business. I began creating commissions for collectors and painting original acrylic paintings to add to my art portfolio.

After moving to Maui, I continued painting- again inspired by the incredible and unique beauty of the islands- which eventually led to my first live wedding painting opportunity in 2025.

Outside of my art, I am incredibly grateful for all of the love in my life, including my partner and my very large and wonderful family. I enjoy exploring Maui by motorcycle with my sweet boyfriend and taking care of our English Bulldog, Easy, who is always making us laugh. Together, we are passionate about traveling the world, exploring other cultures, and building towards our entrepreneurial dreams.
